CABLING, BRACING, PROPPING  & GUYING SYSTEMS

We believe that good advice and management has a starting point, and… a goal. Our onsite assessments take a close look at your vegetation and surroundings so we can provide the best possible advice. By inspecting your site, we identify issues such as tree health, structure, pests and diseases, potential tree failure and solutions for problems. Inspections can range from a simple visual tree inspection from the ground, complete walk through a garden to a detailed climbing inspections and year by year management plans.

Properly installed support systems redistribute weight loads, support poor branch attachments, and limit the movement of branches, leaders and entire trees. At ARTISTREE we assess and examine tree defects in a holistic manner and engineer each system according to a tree’s specific case to reduce risk. It is important that the system installed achieves its objective of adding support, without changing the dynamics of a tree or increasing risk. We believe tree support systems are a productive necessity for managing trees in the urban environment.

ARTISTREE follows the standard for tree support systems ANSI A300 and provides services for assessment, installation, monitoring and adjustments and inspection plans with dates. We also keep document records of all tree support systems installed and supply clients with these details to help with management. See our SAMPLE REPORT below…

CABLING

Cables are installed to limit the amount of movement between branches or stems and reduce the risk of failure. This example shows an 11mm steel cable terminated with saddle clamps.

PROPPING

Props are rigid structures that support long lateral limbs or entire trees from below.

BRACING

artistree pic of big branches that have, or threaten to crack where they meet on the trunk, are joined with a solid rod which passes through the branches of the tree

Cables are installed to limit the amount of movement between branches or stems and reduce the risk of failure. This example shows an 11mm steel cable terminated with saddle clamps.

GUYING

Guy cables are installed to trees that have been uprooted and which can be re-erected. Established trees that have grown or been transplanted in poor soil conditions with compromised anchorage may also benefit with guying.
